air intake systems

do the aftermarket air intake systems seem to cause codes on our trucks, bud of mine had the k&n system, said he was getting codes until he took it off, no problems now back to stock airbox. dont know exact codes . Are the stock intakes suffiecient under normal towing conditions OR WITH A e-z.

Its possible he forgot to reconnect something after he changed the filter.

Does he know what codes??



I changed mine to a Amsoil dropin and have had no trouble or codes since.

The $10 Home Depot airbox mod dropped my towing temps a documeted 20 - 25 degrees pulling an 8,000# trailer up an extended 6% grade.

The stock box is just fine for stock as the others say do the home depot breather. The code he was getting was probably the one for to much silicone in the intake:-laf

Judging from the pics of that airbox, it looks like the filter would sit on the drain part or am I just seeing it wrong?

Also, that looks good if no foglights.

Id have to mod it being as I have the fogs.

There is quite a bit of space between the filter and the bottom of the box.
