was wondering which intake is better... the afe or the k/n offered from jannetty racing? the price difference is incredible. i have a k/n drop in with holes drilled in the bottom of the box and the snorkel tube from the box to the fender removed. but doubt that is enough air yet. thanks for the input.

I can't speak about the AFE, but I had a K&N FIPK on my last truck. While it greatly improved the throttle response (and sound), I was disappointed in the quality. For the money I spent on it, I feel it should have been better built. Because of the quaility, or lack thereof, I had to keep checking that the filter hadn't worked loose from the pipe.

From my own observations, the AFE filter is much larger than the K&N setup I saw. Both similar in design, but my AFE filter looked to have a bunch more surface area than the K&N cone type filter. My truck certainly breathes much better now than the K&N filter in the stock airbox I used to have.
