What air psi are you running in your rear tires on a 3500 dually when not towing? I've been running 50 psi, but the center's are wearing more than the outside of the tires. I just brought them down to 40 psi.
The fronts I always keep at 80 psi.
My truck is not a CC. It has the 17" Alcoas.
Thanks.

Lowest the TRA tables have for the 235/80-17 is 35psi. Unloaded there is no reason not to run them that low. At 35psi dual each tire is rated for 1570 lbs so you still have over 6K of rear axle capacity.

Thanks for that. Yeah I might just run them at 35 then. I bet the ride is better. I don't tow a large trailer any more. I still pull a 35' TT every now an again.

If your truck as anything like mine you are about 3500lb rear axle weight. That mean you can handle 2500lb of tongue weight and stuff before you even need to raise your rear tire pressure above the 35psi. Going to 50psi would take you over 8K axle load capacity. Hope this helps.

Thanks Guys. Yeah I guess after I quit towing big, i just lowered the psi a little bit, and called it good. That's pretty lazy aint it? I'll take y'alls info, and adjust down. I guess I'm just used to the ride.

35psi rears unloaded will give far more capacity than needed. 80 psi fronts ALL the time. Get your front aligned to 1/64" toe you WILL thank me!!!
