Gota have this air ride seat. (':)')

I need a solution to the seat belt delima on an 01, 3500, Quad. Has anyone figured out how to attach the seatbelt to the cab so we can use this seat?

I haven't put a lot of thought into this, but was wondering why they couldn't make an air ride bottom that our back would mount to.

I was wondering if you couldn't get a seatbelt adjuster out of a pre 98. 5 and find a way to mount it in the little door. It may take come welding and modification of your plastic panel, but it shouldn't be to serious.

The problem with having the seatbelt riding with you on the air ride would be the stregnth of the seat base and the fact that it moves. I haven't looked, but how do big trucks mount their seatbelts?

The seats for our Dodges won't be available till March.

I will let you know when they are available, and post it in the classifieds. You can call Chuck, and get your name on the list, and let him know what you want. All the info is on my first post.

The belts in my FL60 are mounted to the cab wall. I would imagine they all are as I have yet to see an airride seat with belts built in.

I'm on the wait list for when these become available.

I have a 01 quad so I was looking at the seat belt situation this morning.

I removed the rear seat and seat belts from mine several months ago. (MY wifes 03 is the people hauler now!!)

It appears that the rear seat belts including the short female ends and the long inertia reels with male ends can be easily adapted for our use. !!!

The reel can be mounted on a floor mount behind the seat and the upper V shaped anchor can be mounted to the area containing the rear door latch on the ceiling.

The seat belts in semis I have been in or driven, they are attached to the cab wall or a lap belt only that is attached to the bottom seat cushion frame.

Seat mounted belts is the style I see everyday. Recaro, American Seating, & Bostrom is the most common for transit buses.

Josh hit it on the structural mounting issue. Our standard mount is four (4) 3/8" bolts through 1/4" steel structure. Seats with integral shoulder belts require 6 bolts.

Trust me, the seat base is more than adequate to support his.

The quad cab trucks have seat mounted belts for 2 reasons. First is the opening rear door. Second is the lack of B pillar. No structure, no mount.

Words of caution

Adding an aftermarket seat that hasn't passed FMVSS opens yourself to litigation in the case of an injury accident. You are your own warranty station.
