Just How Hot is to Hot for short intervals?

Just got my M2 EDM's in and they run strong. Problem is that if I hold it down to long I hit 1600*(pre-turbo) pretty fast. I have a stock air box with the boot removed and a K&N filter.

Those that have them, did your system lower your EGT's? By how much?

What do you recommend?

Thanks,

Lowell

I switched from stage 3 to MACH 3 injectors and got much more power and lower EGTs. The only time I saw higher EGTs was when I had aloose boot on the turbo side. Fixed it and EGTs went back down to 900 degrees pre turbo at WOT again. Maybe something to check?

I had a ScottyII and now have a AFE Megacannon with the Scotty hole in the cowl and like it better. I learned that no intake setup is going to take the place of a turbo that flows more air. This was with a PDR35/12, DragUFM, and BD2's. 1600* came just as fast with either intake system.

Interesting! I had a boot off the drivers side intercooler that had a hole in it. Just replaced it, I'll see if there is any difference.

Thanks for the tip, I haven't been at WOT since the boot replacement, hope that helped.

Sorry, I guess I didn't understand. Did you like the Scotty better?

I did also have a PDR HX40. , but the lag was sooooo long. At this elevation it took 4 times longer to spool it up. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

I think you are going to be wanting the 40 back. . or some other hybrid. I don't think a HX35 (even from Piers) is going to handle the egt's. I have had both a PDR HX35 and 40 and while I have to admit that the 40 has more lag, it also runs way cooler.

I have a BHAF on my truck and it did not really reduce the EGT's any more than the KNRE0880 I had before that did.
