Air vent question

Took the first long trip in the truck with a passenger.

It seems that when I have the blower in the full defroster mode, I'm still getting air coming out of the passenger side dash vents.

So when I'm riding down the road with cool air blowing on the windshield, my wife is complaing about teh cold air coming out of the a/c vents.



Anybody else's truck do this.

Of course, the vents on the very far outside (really on the dash end caps) should bow air on the side windows in defrost mode. She's not complaining about that, is she?

There were some problems with heater plenum doors being broken during assy. They can stick in any mode and cause air to always come out of any of the positions. Mine would always come out the defrost but never come out on the floor. The fix was easy for the dealer.

My vents did leak a little in all modes, didn't do that untill the Dealer fixed the broken defrost door... . I always felt a little cool air coming through the dash vents. Dealer claims its normal. But, after some more complaining they said it wasn't balanced right, now it only leaks at the floor and defrost vents which I understand is normal.



I don't care for the slow mode changing to defrost, plus it clunks soundly if the fan is on high. A bit louder than the 98 trucks. i've learned to turn the fan down a bit when changing to defrost.

No, the air is coming out of the vents where the a/c would come out, not the side defroster vents.

I'll have the dealer look at it when I go in for the trans cooler line recall.

I think something is not right with the door because on a cold morning now when I switch modes, I hear a squeaking from under the dash.
