I've done a lot of searching on this and cant find a definite answer. I have a 98 2500 sb and want airbags to haul the camper. Will I have to cut the fender liners to install them? I have seen many trucks around with the liners cut for bags, and I dont like the way it looks.

TIA,

Jeff

I left mine out because I did'nt want to cut them, I don't like the way they look either. I have seen some guys put a spacer on the bolt directly above the bag to kind of tweak the fender liner around the bag, I did'nt like that as well. I don't think there are too many more options for bags/inner fenders???

I've had air bags (AirLift?) for about 130,000 miles now and they work just fine with the fender liners in. The kit came with a spacer to bulge out the liner around the bag. I would think that running without the liner would allow way more debris to contact the bags and perhaps lead to early failure, especially if you you go offroad much.

So does the spacer go between the liner and the bed? I really dont want to remove the liner, my fenders inside the bed are all beat up and it would show from the outside.

Pwerwagn: Yes the spacer goes between the liner and the bed. It's approx 1 1/2" or 2" long and is located at the middle of the 3 bolts that hold the liner to the bed. The original middle bolt is replaced with a longer bolt.

thanks landshark. this eases my mind about spending that kind of money and having to cut stuff up for no reason.

Airbags, here I come.
