I just noticed after a friend pointed it out my passenger AC vents are blowing warmer air than the two driver side vents. I have found several trucks with the same problem but have not found anyone posting a fix. Everything seems to be working as far as volumn of air and cooling, just warmer air blowing out the passenger side. Just curious if this will be an easy fix before tearing into it. edit:single zone system

Update//Freon or 134R was low. Blowing cold now thanks guys.

I just asked this question last night for a friend. Luckily someone answered. Hope this helps. My friend plans to do this stated fix soon.

I have the dual air controls. My dealer fixed this problem for me by totally draining the system and refilling to full specification. Apparently, they use a mixture that includes some oil and they believe the oil settles and somehow precludes cooling on one side. I thought it sounded as logical as the cow jumping over the moon - but, that is their story and they are sticking to it.

Anyway, this was done at the direction of DC's area warranty representative. They did this last year and it worked until the winter. They did it again 3 weeks ago -- So far, the passenger side is about 2 degrees warmer than the driver's side. I do not know if this will become an annual service item or if it is a true fix, but I'm suspicious that it will be an annual service requirement.

I had the same problem on my truck last summer. The dealer replaced 2 actuators and a door in dash for air and re serviced the A/C. I have been checking it this spring and there seems to be a temp difference again.

I also have a loud clunk and buzz when I turn on the A/C for the first time each day.

Now that only the power train is in warranty I'm in no rush to get it fixed, yet.

EDIT: I have the single zone

Thanks for the reply wcjp,I have the single climate controll also, which has me scratching my head on the charge. If the charge was the problem would'nt the whole system blow hot?

Thanks JApol, I'm on my own too on this one. I never have had any noises that would indicate anything came loose. The floor vents, defrost, and vent controls all seem to be working properly. I'll check the charge then go after the blend door and actuators. Thanks Guys

I had the same issue about a month back, and per the service manual it states that the air will blow warmer on the passenger side when the refrigerant is low. I added some refrigerant to my system and it seems to have done the trick.

Mine is the single climate control system as well. Hopefully this helps.

Our trucks have a dual evaporator, so if your system is low on freon it will do as you are saying.

P. S. my 03 did this and after I set the freon charge all was well

Same happened on mine. I added to the refrigerant charge and the problem is solved. The service manual has a suction pressure range it should have based on the condenser temperature. I charged the system to the upper end of the acceptable range.
