I'm to the point where I think it's a good idea to ditch the stock lift pump for a more reliable system. I have decided on the AirDog 150. I have read about guys having issues with running out of fuel around the 1/8 tank mark (and with as much as 1/4 tank remaining) due to short draw straws, poor draw straw mounting location, etc.

I would appreciate the guys who have installed this system on their 3rd gen. trucks to share their experiences with the install (proper draw straw lengths, location, issues with the instructions or other installation problems).

Thanks!

Hi! I Put The Draw Straw Next To The Lift-pump Hole In The Top Of The Tank. (i Think The Front??not Sure Right Now). you Have To Be Sure You Are A 1/4" From The Bottom Of The Tank. take 2 Mins To Make Sure Of Your Position, its Not The Hardest Part Of The Swap. The Bracket Was Real Tight, enough To Call And Have Toby Adress The Issue With Production(toby's Cust. Suport)i Had To Cut Some Of The Bracket To Fit ,and Then Re-install. hopfully They Have The Prob Straighten Out. make Sure To Use 1 Or 2 Turns Of Nylon Tape W/ All The Fittings,do It Once. the Wireing Was Real Strait In My Poinion You Should Get The Low-fuel Pres Light Kit ,and Install It While Youre Doing The Install.

heres what i know.....

i, unfortunetly did not install my airdog 150. i had a friend who is a certified mopar mechanic do the job. i was out pouring concrete... ..... when i picked it up it was low on fuel, i did this for his sake (dropping tank, etc. ) he lives on a mountain and the grade is impressivly steep. i left his house with about an 1/8of a tank; i brought over a 5 gal. jug of diesel and dumped it in. anyway, everything was fine. no stalls, etc. i have been bolder lately and have now been on the orange light and have gone down some steep grades. no stalls. so, to make a long story short, there is obviously (as in life) the right way and the wrong way to do a job. he did a great job and i dont think that i will need a draw straw. as far as the airdog 150, i definetly felt the difference right away. it is a little noisy on the run position, but the performance has increased and i am now ready to go for some injectors! :D
