So I ask this question for a very good friend of mine who just bought a 1998 quad cab short bed 5 speed truck with 169k on it. I have had 2 24v trucks for a very short time in the past and I remember having the lift pump go out on one of them unknown to me a bit to late and it took out the pump.
Being as I'm pretty much in 12v land now and was at the same time I had the 2 24v trucks since my daily then was a 1997 12v I didn't get to learn the ins and outs as much as I wish I had as I no longer have any of those trucks. The only advice I could give my friend was to ditch the stock lift pump for a fass or airdog. Is this correct thinking? If so which one is preferred? He doesn't as of yet plan on getting wild with it just some tasteful mods like, BHAF and maybe a tune down the line.
I'm asking this for him since he doesn't have an acct. yet but I'm sure he will very soon since I let him on the secret and gave an extra TDR issue I had
