Heading to Texas...

We flew down to Houston for Christmas so the wife could visit her mother for a week. While down here, I bought her an Ipod Nano. Don't know anything about them, but have been learning a lot the last few days. We used her mother's computer and put a few songs on it already. Anyway, we will be flying back home Sunday.

Question: Will it hurt the Nano to go through the x-ray machine at the airport? Will it wipe out the songs we already have? I think not, because the security machine uses x-rays, which shouldn't hurt the hard drive in the Nano. No magnetics to erase the data. But, since this is our first experience, I wanted to ask the younger, hipper, more experienced crowd out there.

Thanks for helping out this old-fogie.

I fly round-trip almost every week. My laptop, MP3 player, blackberry, USB hard drive, two USB thumb-drives, DVM, and optical power meter all go through the x-ray machine every time.

I've never had a problem.

PS: I don't know about the "younger & hipper" part. I'm a 53 year-old retired USAF Master Sergeant. ;)
