Aisin-NV5600 swap...

Just as the title says... .



anyone have any pointers? im gather info on this to determine if its something I should seriously consider, or just buy another truck... which my budget doesnt really allow... and seeing how Ive done numerous "upgrades" to mine... .

Are you that unhappy with that Aisin? The ECM would have to be changed as well. I bet on the G56, when I purchased my C&C, and though I only have 30K on the odometer, it is a lot smother and quiet than the NV5600 I just sold to my brother. Also there is a lot more to it then just swapping out the major components. I would consider a new CTD.



My brother told me, when trying to find a truck like mine with the NV5600 there were very few to chose from, with low mileage (70K), and asked me if I would sell him my 04. 5 2500. I will miss it, but its in good hands and I will be able to visit it from time to time. :-laf

no, its not that at all. Im fairly satisfied with it. However, I want to "play" with it some as well, and there are ZERO upgrades available for it. I cant take the risk of killing my work truck just for a little fun. So, I was contemplating the swap, because I know I can put a good DD3250 or 3600 in it, and be certain that it will hold up to the amount of play I want to do with it.


I figure that I could do it with little money into it, after selling the aisin and everything... . even sticking a couple grand into it would be way cheaper than buying a new truck... and I cant find one that matches what I want in the used category, plus Ive done several things to mine already that I would have to pay for all over again...
