Im about to change the fluid/filter in my transmission... is this all the maintenance required? Are their bands that need to be adjusted or anything? If so, whats the procedure?
This is my first auto tran... always have had manuals in my trucks... .
I would change the fluid and filter but go with the old saying "If it isn't broke don't fix it" as far as adjusting the bands unless your trans isn't shifting right.

ya, im gonna have to get a service manual i suppose... this truck is costin me a fortune to maintain! lol
just dropped 500 into it... transmission filter/fluid, front/rear diff lube, oil/filter change, fuel filter, air filter... . at least now i only have to change oil for a while w/o all the other stuff. lol
We've got a 08 5500... since we've put it in service we've put 1 set of tires on it... new steer tires and recaps on the back... and a oil change every 10K miles... we now have 115K on the truck... it easily is the least expensive truck we've owned to date based on cost per mile... I think it will come in lower than the 3500 duallys with the 6 speed we own...
We sold off a F550 with 500K miles... the 5500 from the start got 1 1/2 MPG better fuel economy... we're very pleased. .
