Hoping this helps everyone with an Aisin.
Rockauto has genuine Aisin fluid for $4.38 per quart.
It is Type T-IV . If you look at the page from Aisin it is the ASRC fluid.
I called Aisin and they said it’s the correct one to use in our trucks.
Happy New Year Everyone!!!

The part number is ATF-04 .
Look up ram 4500 and you will see Aisin fluid listed. Click on info and the page from Aisin lists the cross references, ours is one of them.
The fluid is packed in bottles from

Ok, part number is ATF-0T4 as the bottle shows it. I'll research it as well, warranty is very important to me, but the bottle brand is Aisin.

This is the best documentation I could find.

Not a lot of info on that fluid, but I did read that it’s conventional.

That’s the funny thing about this spec, it’s not new. T-IV/JWS3309 dates back to the early ‘90’s. That’s the reason it’s difficult to find, most manufacturers that were using it have moved away from it to more modern fluids. It’s also part of the reason the OCI is so short on the AISIN vs the 68RFE.

Whatever the fluid is.....it works. 362k on my 2014 3500 and 189k on my 2018 4500 and the AS69RC still performs great when serviced at the prescribed intervals.

For sure. Not saying it’s bad fluid, just pointing out why it’s not very common.

It is interesting that it does not list it with the automatic transmission fluids. I had to search for Aisin and than go through the list of parts to find it. Perhaps they would sell a bunch more if they listed it with all the other fluids.

Conventional as not synthetic?
What is Mopar fluid? Same stuff?

Earl

Correct. Looks like most JWS3309 is conventional. You have to go to some of the multi-trans fluids to get synthetic.

Just so it meet spec is all you have to worry about. Right?

For warranty purposes yes. Needs to be ASRC or equivalent, which this is.

Yeah I really had to dig for it.

Wow, don't believe I ever used any auto trans fluid that wasn't synthetic or at least a blend.

No knowledge of the Mopar fluid? Brand, synthetic or not? Won't be long and my aisin will be due for service. Having a hard time using something that isn't synthetic. With warranty BS, most likely it will be done by the dealer.

I'm contemplating doing it myself, but I've got a lot of time before the 1st change is due, I only have 3K miles. Where does Mopar get their Aisin oil from?

I’m a synthetic fan myself. I’m running Amsoil in my AISIN, well as much as a drain and fill got. First one at 15K. I’ll do another at 30K then roll with the OE interval.

I am running AMZ/OIL in mine. I am hoping to hear from someone that was interested in doing a complete change. I sent him what TransEngineer sent to me.
