Aisin transmission over filled with fluid ?

So my 2022 3500 ho went to my Indy in November to be serviced before winter. Drain and fill about 7 quarts year 2 about 20 k miles. When I picked up truck he said it took all 7 quarts of fluid. I said good. Never really bothered to check the level when I got it home. But I have been checking it now hot and cold level in neutral emergency brake on etc. I’m pretty sure I’m doing it right but it appears to me to be way over full like 3-4 quarts .But how can that be . On my old truck I did all this my self and very carefully put what came out on a pan drop and filter change back in. It was right on the stick every time , I measured it as I dumped it into the waste container. I know they didn’t measure what came out it was drain and dump 7 quarts. How can /could this happen ? How can I keep it from happening again with the Indy?

My 98 and 01 were/are in neutral.

The Aisin isn't a 727 Transmissions. Always follow the owners manual.

Well you learn something new most everyday. Check it in park. Who knew that. It’s right on the high end of hot almost perfect 163 transmission temps . Wow I feel much better thank you

I’m not trying to come down on you, Terry. Just stressing the point that EVERYONE needs to read their OM. It would save folks a lot of headaches and worry. When I was at the dealership we would continually get people asking questions that were plainly spelled out in the OM, and everyone assured me that they HAD read it. Obviously, they hadn’t. I’d really get a kick out of someone saying something like “I wish my _______ would do this….” and then I get to tell them it would. Instructions are in the OM.

Words are like part numbers. The goober I work with asks me all the time, “it’s just one number off. You think it will work?” My reply, “if I try to call you and change one number, you think your phone will ring?”

for so long, you'd check on level ground and in neutral! Old habits are hard to break.
@BigPapa, You 100% spot on with the OM! That was the first thing I did when I acquired my 3500. I even used sticky tabs to find certain pages quickly! Lots of info and good use of a highlighter also helps in finding info for future needs. When I sold a previous vehicle, The buyer loved the notes in the OM and service manual that I had. He commented that I'd done the hard work for him and was Cliff notes for dummies.

The meatheads who never use the parking brake?
Didn’t have a daddy or granddaddy?

If for any reason it rolls — running or not — guess who’s at fault?

One sees utility trucks or fuel tankers set up with wheel chocks . . . no need to wonder why. Being hit by another doesn’t absolve responsibility. Parking brake is a minimum.

A727. The good ol’ days. The high end cars had an automatic release once a driving gear was selected.

After a grade pull, pop the hood, set the brake, choose Neutral, and let ‘er cool at a higher idle.

Once stopped to check I always run thru all the gears ending in park or neutral depending on trans then check fluid.
