My transmission is about to explode :{ , need a good shop around birmingham that knows these trucks. any recomendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

My 2-bits is DO NOT go to just any trans shop. And DO NOT go to the dealer for a stock rebuild.



If you are going to get your trans diagnosed and possibly rebuilt, call some of the Perf. Trans builders and see if they have someone close.



The better ones are ATS, Goerends, Suncoast and probably Dtt.



ATS has affiliated shops all over the country. 1-800-949-6002 They can help to somewhat diagnose it over the phone with you.



What do you mean by "about to explode"?

about to explode, a REALLY severe shudder when I get in the throttle, even a little. THis started about a week after installing 65hp injectors. getting steadily worse. I've talked to ATS, DTT, Suncoast, Goerends. Suncoast is the only one that has anybody around here. I'm leaning towards Goerends, just need to find a shop willing to do the re-build/install using goerends stuff, that is somewhat competent.

Yeah, bombs do that! Well, the good news is that when it is done you will be a happy camper!!

anything I need to check/replace while I am at it. already going to check the transfer case chain. getting complete transmission with triple disc.

I think I talked to you on the phone a couple of weeks ago. I went ahead and got a complete transmission from goerends. I'm loving it so far. I need to call you and get some gauges though. Thanks for the reply. I will call Merrimans if my Goerends acts up and needs looking at.
