I unlocked the truck with the key, opened the door and the alarm went off. 2nd gen never did that!

Guess I got to "read the manual" :)

In the manual it says if the truck was tampered with to the point it'd set off the alarm, it would beep the alarm 3 times when you open the door to let you know. At least I seem to recall it saying that, I seem to have misplaced my manual. It's done it to me a few times, all times I've been away from the truck, so potentially it could've been tampered with.

Don't own a 2006 but I had this problem in another Chrysler product. There is a relay in the door panel that deactivates the alarm when the key is used. This was broke and if I tried to open the door, with the key, it always set off the alarm. Don't know if this helps... ;)

Took a look at my 2005 manual and there is a switch that appears to attach to the drivers key lock. May have come loose, gone bad, or it could by some other problem all together... ;)

I have the same concern, always happens when i'm too fast opening the door after unlocking it. Seems the controller takes a second or to turn off the alarm.
