ALARMmmmmmmmm!

Yikes! The Dodge EVS II burgler alarm went off again, and no one was around to shut it off which pleased my neighbors a whole bunch! Has anyone had this happen?

I've disconnected the shock sensor and reset the EVS's brain by removing and replacing the 20 Amp fuses, but the little rascal yelped its heart out again after 2 weeks.

Could it be low battery voltage? My batteries read 12. 4 Volts at rest and are 4 Yrs old. What do you think?

I'm no expert on alarms but here's my $. 02.
I had an EVSII on my 95 gasser. It never worked right. Some times it would lock doors then it wouldn't, Lights on then off, etc...
Anyway have friend in 12volt business he said EVS is total garbage and they crap out all the time. He convinced me to go with a particular after market alarm, (Sidewinder),
on my Y2K and I love it. After five years with the EVS that I paid $600. 00 for and it
didn't work properly, I keep calling myself a jerk. DC is way overpriced on alarms and there are so many better equipped ones out there. Do some research and get yourself a new alarm. --You won't be sorry--

Thanks. I think I'll replace it. The after market one in my Jeep works great. The Dodge EVS has a mind of its own and is about to become brain DEAD.
