Alaska Drag Racing this coming weekend..

This coming weekend (July 22) is the Northern Diesel Performance Truck (http://home.gci.net/~northerndiesel/) Night at Alaska Raceway Park (http://www.akracewaypark.com/). This is a DIESEL only race and if you ever wanted to race your diesel this is the time. Jim the owner has sponsored all three nights this season and I know he would love to see more of us show up at the track. He is a great guy and now carries stuff for our Dodges. As a matter of fact he is a Smarty Dealer now so if you want an Smarty and don't want to wait give him a call. I bet if you asked nicely he would even bring one out to the track for you to try... ...



Go make us Dodge guys proud, but watch out for his white ford, its going to be fast.



I, unfortunately, will not be able to make this race, but that does not mean you shouldn't.

I'll be there. There is only one more after this one folks, which will be during mid August, and it always gets rained out. The gates open at 2:00pm, T&T/Dial-In/Grudge Races starts at 3:00pm till about 6:00pm, and the bracket racing for TROPHIES and BRAGGING RIGHTS start about 6:30pm. Just bring your 4-wheeler or snowmachine helmet (or borrow one if you have neither) and a pair of long pants/shirt to slip on when you run.



If anyone wants to go, but has never been out to the track before and not sure how to get there, I'd love to meet you guys/gals in the Fred Meyer parking lot in Eagle River, or wherever, and convoy out to the track together. If your in Anchorage (I am), we can do the same here in town somewhere and just make a pit stop in ER to pick those folks up. Looks like the weather is going to be perfect for us. Should be an awesome day at the track (for a change).

Cool. There is an 04 duramax in town with stacked chips and nitrous that I have been trying to get to come out for a couple summers. I think he is gonna make it finally, so that should be fun to watch. Oo.

Well, did we race or not?

Yes we Raced, well I did for the first time. Had crappy reaction times, plus only 20 min to test and tune. I had fun but "broke out" my first run down the track.



But I beat 2 fords I raced :-laf

I only had a 15. 8 but I had a full tank of fuel and racing with the AC on doesn't help either ... ... ..... I was hot.

Participation was better this time, but not great. No new land speed records were set. Everyone that attends regularly was slower for some reason. Sure seemed like conditions were perfect. I broke out my very first run as well. At least I had several hours to test-n-tune and try different things. It was a good time. The Duramax with nitrous turned out to be a manual trans. He gave it everything he had though and managed to squeeze off a few low 15. -something passes. Until next month! Oo.
