DIESEL THUNDER! August 20th in Spokane, WA.

Idaho Dyno Days And Drag Race August 27, 28

I've been asked about attending a rally that's going to be in Fairbanks on July 30-31. Then another fellow asked me about doing it in Anchorage. What do you Alaskan bombers think? Which place would be better, Fairbanks or Anchorage? Louise & I have been invited to go fishing in Soldotna, so we are coming up for the end of July anyways, but it would be nice to meet some of you guys while we are in the area & have a bomb/bull$hit party :D

Anchorage has a "Test and Tune" at the AK raceway park August 3rd and I'm sure would have a good turn out if everyone was given enough time to plan for it. Last year at a test and tune we gathered around 10-12 trucks and had a good time at the track. No blistering times (13. 95 was the best i think) but was a first for most everyone out there. JR2 usaully spearheads any gatherings going on in the Anchorage area if interested.

Piers (or anyone else for that matter) -- if you are serious about some sort of rally, contact me at the office this week and I'll see if I can find a way to help "sponsor" the event. Maybe we can even get the Dodge dealers to jump in and help. Let me know, I'll look for all of you during that time.

OOh yeah, TDR members get a 10% discount on Fleetguard products for their Dodges at Cummins Northwest in Anchorage. Just ask for me . . .

And don't forget to ask about Cummins PowerBoosters program also. Great discounts for members at all Cummins Northwest distributor locations throughout the Pacific Northwest.

There is a group in Fbx and one in Anchorage too, I don't know anyone in the Fbx gang but I do know I would like to have you attend a bomb session in the Anchorage area. I guess we would need to know exactly when you would be available, then we could set something up. I know several guys that would be willing to have the meet at there place if I am not available.

On a personal note, if I am not in town for the meet I will find you in Soldonta to at least say Hi.

Let us know when you might be available for the Anchorage/Wasilla gang and I will see what I can do to set something up.

Chugiak (John),

Wow we posted at the same time. I was thinking about it earlier and thought I should come by and see the guys at Cummins and stop and see Roy at Anchorage Chrylser about this. Maybe we can get Roy to let us use back lot at Anc Dodge or maybe Cummins would let us use there parking lot...

Not a bunch of time to get the word out but we can try...

I'm game for whatever (just hope I'm in town when it happens), but I would think an afternoon at the track would be a great time if Piers is going to be in the area long enough. Plenty of room and track-side parking and we get to make smoke at the same time. Lots-o-Fun. Roy sponsors just about everything that happens at the track anyway... ... maybe he can get them to break the grill out for us.

I'm up for almost anytime, I'll be leaving Boston Bar Sunday, the 24th of July, arriving in Alaska most likely on Friday the 29th. I need to be on my way back home on August the 9th, so that leaves 10 days open. I'll fit my fishing schedule[don't really have one] around the rally/racing/bomb party :D Having never been further north than Prince George, B. C. , Louise & I are really looking forward to this event Oo.

I talked with John Hebert, Cummins northwest in Anchorage, (very nice fellow and owner of 05 CTD). He would like to host a half day event on July 29th Friday at Cummins on Commercial Drive in Anchorage, starting at approx 1130 hours.

He will provide lunch and techs to answer questions.

We are still working on a plan for the 30th and 31st.

Bob

Getting the word out

Is there some kind of calender of events for those of us here in Alaska? Somehow so I can stay on track for these type of events? I buy alot of my stuff through Cummins Northwest and just now found out that I can get a discount.

We don't really have a calendar that I know of, but I do run an email list that quite a few of us are on.

To get on it, send an email to -- email address removed -- with the single word "subscribe" (minus the quotes) as the body. The subject line doesn't matter. The list software will send you back a confirmation message, which you just need to reply to, and then you'll be added.

There's very little traffic on the list, but announcements for local meetings and stuff like this get posted. Once you get on it, you can send email out to everyone else on the list by sending your message to -- email address removed --. Feel free to send anything related to diesels that you think all the others would be interested in.

Folks, as Bob stated Lunch starts at 1130. I will have some techs there to discuss any issues that you might be having with your engine. One thing to keep in mind -- this session is intended to be a get together to meet other owners of CTD's and to discuss issues with the stock Cummins product. Because of liability issues associated with performance enhancements to the Cummins engines, we can't be involved with helping you with bombing your vehicles in any way. There are plenty of very good firms, some local in Anchorage that sell performance products and can give performance advice.

What I can offer is a free lunch, some technical expertise, and our thanks for buying Cummins. Stop by to chat, and I'll even have some door prizes. See you on the 29th!

Will you have something like this next year? That is when my wife and I are planning on making the trip. Grizzly
