DIESEL THUNDER! August 20th in Spokane, WA.

Idaho Dyno Days And Drag Race August 27, 28

Dreamer, You should come out to the races this wednesday to meet some of the guys. It just cost $10 to watch (I think $8 w/military discount) or $20 if you want to "test and tune". Bring the PSD feller too... that'll convert him. :-laf

Just checked with CinC (Commander-in-Chief) House. She said that would be cool so we'll all be there. Unfortunately, the PSD guy (brother-in-law) is headed south for the week.

Where will y'all be?

We normally pull right up along the track - down from the grandstands. The Dodge fellers usually stick togeher so it shouldn't be hard to find us.

You park over by the flight simulator?

I plan on making it to the meet and greet on the 29th might even try and get my buddy with his new duramax to go out to the races on wed. No powerbraking for me though, i need this transmission to last me but trust me i wouldn't be a one wheel peeler :-laf :-laf

Double J,

Just to confirm the location... Palmer yes?

Yes. Mile 10. 4 Old Glenn Highway. Take the Old Glenn exit off the Glenn Highway... . after you cross the bridge over the Knik it's another couple miles before you come to a sign on your right (usually a big sign sitting on the back of a truck), hang that right and it's down the road a little bit on your right... can't miss it.

Alaska Raceway Park

Don't forget, if you plan on running, you will need long pants and a long sleeve shirt you can slip on. Also, a DOT approved helmet. 4-wheeler or snow machine helmets that have DOT on the back or inside are fine.

Well... Showed up last night (Black Quad Dually) with the family and met a couple of people. But alas, the big rains canceled the race :( .

Was never planning on running the track; good thing as I didn't have any gear. Chicken I guess from spending so much on it and not wanting to break it... not that it would, mind you.

Saw some awesome trucks. A guy named Steve and his wife and family were out there in their bombed trucks. Man they looked nice (trucks that is)(family too).

They are going to reschedule the race so if somebody could keep us advised here that would be awesome.

Cheers all and hope to meet more of y'all next time.

I will be at the Cummins shop on the 29th for the Meet & Greet. Other than the conversations on cabins and fishing on the Kenai, I haven't seen or noticed much else concerning anything else.

Is the Test and Tune still happening on 3 Aug 05??

To all interested in attending the launching of the new Fairbanks TDR chapter. It so happened that one of the charter members, his boss was letting us use his shop to hold our meetings. Well, he moved and we didn't have a place to launch our initial club meeting. To make a short story long, I talked to Gene's Chrysler about using one of their bays to hold the meeting, expecting a no for an answer. But they jumped all over it and said yes before I even finished my sad story. (Seems one of the owners is into hopped up, souped up more power go faster diesel TD trucks and will attend the opening meeting) So Gene's Chrysler of Fairbanks is a proud sponsor of the newly formed "Arctic Diesel Research TDR club of Alaska"

We will be meeting at said business on Sat the 30 around noon. Piers will be there with tips and tricks on 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen trucks. Anyone who can attend is invited.

The location is at: South Cushman and Van Horn road.

Yes. Double J and I were talking about it just today. Both of us have some new goodies and neither of us want to wait until the rescheduled Truck Performance Night on 31 Aug. We will be at the rescheduled event, but we are going to hit the 3 Aug test-n-tune and rattle some ricer cars in the mean time. Not sure if anyone else will be able to make it.

WDaniels -

Sure wish I could make it to FBX but I don't think its in the cards. Is your TDR club going to be an official club or just a group or like minded individuals?? (like ours in the Anch area).

Have fun and I will be meeting Piers when he comes South.

To everyone else: Piers will not be at the Cummins event as he will be in FBX. He just does not have the time to get from home to AK to make or event. He will be in Wasilla on Sunday night or Monday sometime visiting Bob Robertson. If anyone wants to go out to Bob's to say "Hi" shoot Bob an email. We where going to plan an event on Monday but figured that with that being a work day we would have very light (Me and Bob) turnout.

Thats the story as I know it, see you all Friday at Cummins.

John

Anyone and everyone in Alaska JR2. All I need to do is send in the paperwork. (sorry guys, been very busy with flying, fishing, and a lot of work).

Alaska Meet and Greet

A big thanks to all of you who showed up last Friday for the BBQ and the meet-n-greet. It was great to see all of the different members and their rigs, and I know I enjoyed talking truck with a lot of you. A special thanks to the folks at Lithia Dodge who had the '06 Big Horn edition on display, and also to Jeff's Advanced Diesel in Anchorage for donating some of the door prizes. Hope this is the first of many meets,

Best,

John Hebert

I have been away for a bit, but also wanted to add my thanks to the Cummins folks and Advanced Diesel for everything they did for us. You folks rock!!
