Alcoa 16x7

I really like these but the offset is not zero, I think it is . 250. If I remember correctly the backspacing might be right. Is a 7 inch wheel enough for 285's?? Will this wheel work on a 1st gen???

I went to www.southwestwheel.com and looked at Alcoa

wheels $ 109. 95 but,I don't know if they will fit 1st. Gens.

I'd like to put a set on my truck if I can ever save enough money.

I have a set of 16 x 7 Alcoas from a 1rst Gen. and am currently running them on a '94. They are good wheels but I much prefer 8" rims for 285's. Several folks on this forum use 285's on stock 7" steel wheels and seem to have good luck, but I found the sidewall to soft if you aired them down enough to get a proper tire tread contact. I will be ordering some of those here in the next few months! I will take $50-100 out of each paycheck till I get enough to get them! I have never seen them so cheap! They will beat the Chrome mods I have on my truck now!

The Alcoas are excellent and very strong. They have about . 25" less negative offset (to the inside) than stock wheels. You can run 285-75s on them but I would prefer to run the slightly narrower 255-85-16. Basically the same height. I have been running Cooper Discoverer LT's for years and they are a good combo.

Hey Joe,



Have you had any problems with the 255's as far as weight capacity? The weight capacity on them is only 42 lbs less a tire than my current 235's. Although in a D ply.

What makes the first gens different?

Can I run 94-99 rims on my 92?

I have looked at other rims and all they cared about was the bolt circle.
