This has been brought up in several threads, so I thought I would start one thread where it can be discussed... thou at this point there doesn't seem to be much to discuss.

I was hoping to be able to calibrate DTE for a potential future 55 gallon Titan Tank purchase, and so far it appears unsuccessful... which is also what I've read.

I was successful in changing the tank capacity from 121L to 208L (32 to 55 gals), and all that changed was the fuel level... which doesn't make any sense. The body computer must be looking for 2 senders with a capacity above 32 gallons.

So nothing yet, but maybe someone will figure it out.

Perhaps DTE only uses the fuel tank level as a partial contributor of the overall calculation of DTE. Any chance throttle position, load, speed, calculated MPG, and similar factors come into play while calculating DTE?

It would be interesting if one could tap a similar year BCM from a Cab & Chassis to see if the sales code for the standard 52 gallon fuel tank might have any changes...

My DTE at the Durango fluctuates a lot right according to the load at the engine.
Go faster it changes within seconds to shorter DTE and vice versa.
So there must be more into it then just Tank level.

Doin an overtake with WOT sets the DTE almost to Zero Miles.

There is certainly lots that goes into the calculation, but remaining fuel is a big long factor. Best I can figure is that the computer thinks that 55 gallons takes 2 tanks and senders. That’s the only way I can explain my fuel level going to 1/2 and my DTE not changing.

Have you tried something that is stock size but larger then what you have. I'm wondering if they have a range set where when converted at 208L you are out side the limit for the DTE logic.

So the DTE might only work up to a certain limit, like 200L. Or go down to a 25gal tank and see if DTE drops. Then you can rule out that one setting has no effect of DTE.

I tried 193 liters, 51 gals, as I gather that's the total fuel on a C&C with 2 tanks and got the same result. I haven't played with it yet to see where it switches to wanting 2 senders.
