I just had my truck in for an alignment (2nd time), it still pulls to the right. I tried to tell the dealer the spec's I would like it to be in and they said it couldn't be done?

I wanted to have the alignment to the spec's I found from Brent? I wish I knew his e-mail address.

Has anyone had an alignment done with these specs?
caster 3. 2 3. 5
cross caster -. 3

camber -. 10 -. 10
cross camber 0. 0

If so, does you truck stear without a pull to the right? Sorry to so long winded.

thanks in advance
Frank

I just got a email from Brent. He said DC emailed all of the dealers with the specs last week. He also said there should be a TSB out soon with the specs that were posted here.

GO BRENT! How about that, a tech has to give the specs to DC. Great, as soon as this TSB comes out, I am going to take mine in!!!!!

Brent is probably swamped with e-mail, so I will not post his addy here, but anyone who wants to try and e-mail him, drop me a e-mail and I will get his information to you. I hope Brent got a big Christmas bonus for his efforts.

ftb87,
to change your cross castor or camber requires pressing out the balljoints and using ones that are offset the amount you want to change. The only adjustment thats easily made is the caster which is done by turning eccentrics on the lower control arms. This can only change your caster equally, though, and cannot change your cross caster which is the difference between each side. If the eccentrics were turned unequally you would end up trying to twist the axle, and that won't happen.

Cross caster has to be set with offset balljoints if the factory number is off. When I talked to an alignment shop about using offset balljoints he said they would not be covered under the factory warranty and Dodge would most likely use them as an excuse to not warrant the whole front end. I'm not sure if the factory has access to their own offset joints or not but that may be why they told you it can't be done.
It appears you also have read Brents memo so you probobly know most of what I just told you, keep us up to date on what happens. Hope this helps- Zach

I just talked to my dodge dealer. He said they have sent in my request to the regional manager about my right pull?

I hope your correct on the new recall.

Thanks for you help.

This is what Brent emailed me last week. .

You might be interested to know that Chrysler has
just this week sent all dealers recommended alignment
specifications for '99 + Ram trucks via e-mail and
will later become a TSB. Coincidentally, their
specifications match the ones I posted last February
on the net and figured out over four years ago number
for number. Go figure!!!
