just replaced a bunch of front end parts(ball joints, both tie rod ends) and the nearest alignment shop capable(and i would let touch my truck) of doing 19. 5 wheels is 300mi. round trip at $5/ GAL thats not happening right now til i need to go that way.

so i just want to set my toe but the the spac is . 10deg:confused: can some one convert that to inches over any lenght and i can get it from there.

just so its fairly accuratre probably +/- 1/32" I'm assuming i manufartured adapters on an old set of 17" wheels and tires i have none of that tread to tread crap

At 12" length from center, I am getting 0. 021" for 0. 1 degree. This is for one side only, so if measuring to other wheel you would double this. Hopefully someone will confirm my calculations.

We used to scribe a line around each tire in the center with chaulk... (spinning the tire) We'd than use a tool and scribe a single line in the center of the chaulk... . (spinning the tire)

Now with the suspension compressed but each tire off the ground 1/4" - 3/8" you measure between the front set of lines and the rear set of lines at a point that is level with the center of the hub... the tires are off the ground so there is no pressure on the tie rod ends but the suspension is loaded so its at the condition that you would run the truck down the road...

The front dimension should be 0 - 1/4" less than the rear measurement... . thus, toe in... . this allows for the pressure at road speed to compress the tie rod ends and you should end up with close to 0" toe...

If the steering wheel is not straight, you shorten one tie rod end and lengthen the other to bring the wheel(steering) straight... do this first and once the wheel is straight you than set the tow... .

Hope this helps... .
