After getting rear ended this summer and banging up the tailgate, bumper and receiver, I finally got everything all back together. Her insurance paid for everything and I had a little left over for a few goodies. I ordered a Runel bumper. It took a little over a month to come in and the shipping company tried to SCREW me (estimated $209 to ship, tried to charge me $739) but it is an awesome bumper. I almost had it changed out by myself but the bed bolts were impossible to break loose and I couldn't afford to strip one so I had the dealer take the bed off to get the old receiver off. With the help of my jack, wife and daughter, the rest of the install was quite easy. The tailgate was quite damaged near the bottom making it pretty impossible to get the lower line right so we pulled it out pretty close, painted it and then added diamond plate to cover it up the boo boos. It matches the bumper quite nice but it is a little too much for my liking. Anyway it should be quite visible from now on to traffic behind me. With the leftover money, I got some Power Wagon fender flares and had all the scratches buffed out and chips in the paint repaired. I was disappointed after I got the flares and realized that they can't be painted but the black turned out better than I thought. The last addition and final touch was the receiver cover. You can't see it in the picture but it is made from billet aluminum and says "REMOVE TO TOW FORD".

The truck is a little dirty because it is raining up here today but I think it still looks good.

Looks GOOD, I like the diamond plate, nice touch. You can paint the fender flares, sand them, wipe them down with acetone or denatured alcohol, and use a paint adhesive primer, then your color matched paint, and then clear coat. Thats how I did mine.
