Last 2 tanks of fuel, my mileage has dropped from 17 avg. , to 11... . I didn't change anything... Mods, driving habits, Gas station... nothing.

Clean AF, Checked the intake sensor a while back when it was the the big talk on the forum, not sure where else to look.

This was one reason I bought the truck... . Help!!

Do they winter blend the fuel where you live? They started about 3 weeks ago around here. Winter blended fuel will drop your mileage quite a bit, I don't know about 6 mpg though.

I ran unblended fuel last winter with an additive and my mileage didn't seem to drop. Hopefully that's all your problem is.

How is your lift pump? Boost leaks? I have been running in 4x4 a lot lately and my mileage has suffered. I wish I had saved a printout that I had on the different things that affect HP requirements. 6" of mud required something like 16 times the HP of flat paved road. We are getting snow here now and I am sure it increases HP requirements just to stay even. Extra idling time.

Those were obviously random thoughts. ;)

Check to see if your fuel station has switched over to soy diesel. The station I regularly bought at recently switched to it and I lost about 3-4 mpg - won't be filling up there anymore!

I think somehow my "trip" mileage on the odometer gets reset on it own once in a while. Like now it shows only 125 miles and I am below 1/2 tank of fuel. I get most of my fuel at a keylock, and they compute mileage on the monthly billing, so I will check mileage then. SNOKING

Steve,

You have the worst luck with fuel in your area. Didn't you have a bad algae problem recently too?

Remind me not to buy fuel in MI.

Heres what I've done so far.....

1. Fresh air filter

2. Fresh fuel filter

3. Removed and cleaned the IAT sensor

No winter fuel yet in this area...

Weird, just weird... . 16-19..... now 13, if I'm lucky... don't want to take it into the dealer, I'd rather take it to the Cummins shop.

HELP!!!!
