Can someone tell me and possibly some other members why do we have all these flashes/updates? Is it because they are compiling data and finessing the emissions ... . sort of trying to perfect it??????

Looks to me like they keep doing the flash to keep em running with all this smog Junk they have on theses motor's they better do something Quick

It looks like both Dodge and Cummins drove their prototypes hard and furious. When they get driven by grocery getters, they clog up and need different programming to cycle the E brake, egr, and regen for a light duty cycle to prevent clogging with soot.

I think that many of us, if not most, are in both categories. Right now, I'm 13 days into a heavy haul with my 5er and the truck is doing great. When I'm at home, just driving to the golf course and grocery store, I don't want to have all this trouble. I also don't want to have to hook up and pull a couple hundred miles just to clean out the gook.

I agree. All I am saying is that they ONLY drove it hard. Now they are tweaking it to make it work in the other circumstances. If they only sold trucks to commercial haulers, there would be 95% fewer Cummins out there.
