"A hand held wireless remote that will enable you to start your Honda EU3000is from up to 70 ft away! . These units bring even more versatility to your Honda generator by enabling you to start it by remote. Our wireless remote control provides you with a Start/Stop function with an automatic choke. Additional remotes can also be added. "

I'm installing it this weekend and I'll let you know how it goes and works. It sure will be nice not to go out side when it's cold to start or stop the gen. The web site is Sunent.com

Clayton, looks good. I had wondered about the choke, and they have incorporated one into the kit. If I don't choke mine, it doesn't want to start.

I didn't see a price on the website. Care to share?

Thanks RR

Install was easy. What a cool little devise. I hadn't started my gen all winter long. So I turned on the gas... turned the key to the on position and held down the choke button of the remote-start and it took a second but it worked as advertised and fired right up. Nicest thing about the remote start is that choke feature. It uses a little servo to pull the choke back. No more going out in the cold morning to manually choke the gen anymore or getting out of bed late at night to turn it off. It's all at the tip of my fingers :D:D:D I would recommend this remote-start to everyone with a Honda EU3000is.

Do they make these remote starts for the Honda EU2000i?

I think these work with the EU3000is because they have a electronic ignition (battery w/key start). I don't know if you could fab something up with a battery and make it work.

The remote start would work on the 2000I if you could get your "other half" to go out and pull the rope. Good luck with that. :-laf :-laf

Nice, but pricey. Still cheaper than the factory remote 3000'2 I've seen advertised. How do you get your other half to go out in 30 degree weather or rain to shut it off?

Clayton, Thanks for the info. Will be ordering one of these babies.

Edited: Oh. . Just checked the price. . :--) It might be awhile.

I've used this the last two weekends and it works great. It's so nice to be laying there in bed at night and hit the button and have the gen turn off. Then in the morning just hit the other button and have the gen start right up. One thing to be careful with is if you leave the key on and have the gen stored in your trailer don't put the remote start in your pant pocket. My father in-law started his on accident with it in his front compartment and the door closed. Could start a fire or something bad.

Hi,

For those who have the EU3000iS, Until I see one in person, can the bottom feet or rails come off? Can the total height of the unit be reduced to 19"? The honda web site states a height of 22. 4" a little too high to fit under my tonneau cover. All replies appreciated.
