Id try calling other Allison shops

Why dont you save your self some greif put a non computerised Allison in the truck such as at Allison AT 545 check out the mid range truck wreckers

they have lots of 5. 9 cummins with Aliisons rather than one of the compurterised versions for a non ecm enginge truck

the reason that i went with a lct 1000 is the over drive and the ability for a double overdrive. if you look on destroked.com you will see that they make a Cummings to gm bellhousing adapter w/o a 10 degree tilt, and also a bolt on flex-plate Cummings to Allison no spacers no bushings no washers.

Check with destroked.com again because Scott is now a dealer for PCS. I think he is planning to put an Allison 1000 behind his 24 valve in his Super Duty using a PCS kit. PCS has had trucks running Allison 1000s with their hardware and software for about a year that i know of. Biggest hurdle i know of is that programming the electronics on an Allison 1000 is very difficult. As far as getting an extra overdrive, a built 4R100 with a Gear Vendor's overdrive may be a stronger, possibly less expensive option, though you wouldn't have the ability of 2 reverse speeds.

Here is a link to a long thread about the conversion and TCM wiring and programming considerations.

Why would want a over drive in a 1,000 series when a 545 has sspeeds if youu went a 643 youd have 6 , al you have to do is buy the corresponging bell houseing

renember adding a computer to a non omputer tuck wont be fun

the 545 top gear is 1 to 1 not overdriven. . i had a few of them . . for the drag truck. same with the 643. check it out.

The first number is the series, the second is the number of speeds and the third number is the number of major revisions.

An AT540, AT543 and AT545 are 500 series, 4-speed transmissions without a lockup converter or overdrive

An MT640, MT643 are 600 series 4-speed transmissions with lockup and no overdrive. MT653 and MT654 are 5-speed transmissions with lockup and no overdrive.

Yep,..... No "park paw" with 1. 1 final outputs on all. Good catch Speedo :-laf

DVolk. Next time your in your 92 don't use 5th gear. It is a overdrive gear. Then you will see why he wants a OD trans. With a reprogram he would have 2 OD's. The second OD would drop his engine RPM down to about what my truck has with the 3:08's and a single OD. I run 1650 RPM at 55MPH.

TKentch keep us posted on how your doing. Also let us know how much work the trans tunnel needs. Your 2wd has a smaller tunnel than a 4x4. I think it will be a good swap if you can get the controller to work with the few imputs our computer could give. That thread on the dieseltruckresourse has some good reading. You might want to contact gabe32. I have been following that thread for a while. With the gear ratios of the LCT1000 has. It would be a sweet trans.

LCT1000 ratios. 1st 3. 10 2nd 1. 81 3rd 1. 41 4th 1. 00 5th 0. 71

Dodge ratios. 1st. 2. 45 2nd 1. 45 3rd 1. 1 OD . 69

It has the ratios lined up for towing a moving load. The jump is a little high on 1st to 2nd. But when your rolling they are good. I have driven a loaded GM6500 with a big gass engine. With a 25k load the gearing worked good once you were moving out of 1st.

Good luck on the swap.
