Need a number

I think that's the transmission I had in my Isuzu FSR's. I put 200k on one without changing the fluid once. I had the truck a long time and the transmission never gave me any problems but I only had 175hp.

I too was wondering about this beast. I am not too worried of its durability; more of any pains to install. What are trying to put it in?? I have a 98 I was thinking about trying to put one behind. I am concerned about the computer for the engine as far as how they are set up and the performance of it without tweeking the computer in some way. . Also clearances for mounting. I am not concerned with brackets or drive shaft or that stuff. I too would appreciate any inputs. Good Luck sgriffing.

Go for it, man!Oo.

I have an AT542 in my truck which is pretty much exactly the same. It shifts well, handles everything I've thrown at it so far. I only have about 200HP though... (For now... :D )

Not sure about interface with the computer, as the AT's only interface with the engine is a TV cable... I think some of the newer 545's use an elctrically variable modulator valve as opposed to the mechanically variable. (In other words you wire it in as opposed to hooking to your throttle. )

Here's some pic's of my engine and transmission all bolted together:

Well you don't need to hook it to the computer just get a pcm from a manual truck and it will not care. However you will care BIG time if you don't do some thing about the ratio's of the truck as it's a 1:1 trany.....
