I tried switching my 2004. 5 2500 stock rims for alloy to free up carry capacity. My son has them on his 2004 3500. When I took them to be mounted I found the rear axle seems to have a slight lip such that the rims won't seat flush on the hub.

Does anyone know why this would be? Neither of us knows why.

Hello Jim,

If you are trying to put Dodge "OE" Alloys on then they will work perfect. If they are for a GM truck( same bolt pattern but with a smaller Hub ring)They need to be machined larger to fit over our Indexing ring. Search for threads on Hummer H2 wheels and you will see what i mean.

I have had 03 and 06 Dodge OE wheels on my 03 and they all work fine.

Best regards

DD

On my 2004. 5 I have had five different sets of Dodge OEM wheels from 2003 thru 2006, both steel and alloy and now a set of Dodge Power Wagon wheels. They all fit the same. I agree if they are Dodge OEM wheels 2003-2006 at least they should fit fine.

Thanks. Three of the rims were from a 4 rim buy my son did. He's using one on his 3500. The other was purchased from a company in Utah through ebay and advertised as a Dodge rim. None of them fit the rear, we tried them all while we had one of the rear ones off.

We were able to compare the two rear hubs from the trucks and his definitely has a small lip that won't allow the rims to fit flush. These are the exact same rims that came stock on my truck.
