I was on my way to my son's wrestling banquet Tuesday afternoon. I was half an hour from the school when a little nurse person lost control of her Grand Am coming from the other direction and did a 540 in front of me. I thought for sure I was going to t-bone her as there was no way to stop going downhill in 4-5" of slush. At the last second before impact her car continued to rotate just far enough to give me a hole between her and the guardrail. I shot for the hole and rubbed the end of my front bumper against the guard rail. The left end of the bumper hit her car in the passenger door and knocked her back into the center of the road. I have to say my old girl performed admirably and is in real good shape considering. Scraped bumper cover, small crease behind bumper and 2" long scrape on right fender, left fender crinkled from bumper and her passenger mirror hitting it and a crease down the fender and door from same mirror. Considering what could have happened I am thinking I should have picked some lottery numbers that night. BTW, there were 2 cars and another pickup following behind her that snuck by her in the other lane. We both drove away after waiting 40 minutes for the sheriff to get there. Her car had full coverage so will get fixed. My girl on the other hand will now live for a while with some new battle scars.

Paul, glad to hear that everyone was intact after that. Those scars on the old girl will come in handy in heavy traffic. I used to ease over real close to the line sometimes and whoever was there would either speed up or slow down to get away from me. They would look at the scrapes and rust and consider that I didn't really care if I added a couple more!

Glad you made it, OK! Thats what "old iron" is forOo. ! They can be fixed, you cant! Battle scars are a scare tactic:cool:! They transform your vehicle an "avoid at all costs" obstacle:D! Its amazing how folks will give them old trucks a wide birth when confronted , in traffic:-laf. GregH

You made it!

Paul blessings to you and all you family, if you believe or not, you are safe and sound, and the truck remains on the road:D I always dream of that custom paint job for my rig, uh looking better all the time with clear-coat peeling and paint fading. Thanks for the lesson on:

You never know what the H _ LL the other guy is going to do#@$%!

Spring time, great. When will it dry up???
