Remember when the DieselDynamics injectors came out really quick for the 03 motors? And then they flopped (IMO) because they drained the rail in such a quick manner... I hope the R&D on the new motor is quicker then "just hog'em out" design that some of the first HPCR injectors makers did.

Course if its Don, then I am guessing he has had these for some time already :)

tommy, it is not rocket science, these are just nozzels. some may have problems but you and i both know that if II is making it it's going to be good, they will not just throw something onto the market and call it good, these injectors have been avalible to them for over 6 months

My point is that I dont want an injector that the maker simply ran some material through and made the holes bigger - I want R&D that the angle is good along with #of holes, etc, etc. Time will tell

One question I have: Are there vast improvements in the bodies of these new 6. 7L injectors (over the 5. 9L ones)?

accually yes they are made of a better material, the 6. 7 has much higher pressures like 28000 or somthing crazy like that from the factory, so yea i say they have better material and a better relief valve :D

I know that they are piezo electric which duramax has been running for a year now along with the higher pressure

Actually the injectors work great by themselves or with an EZ. If you start adding big duration boxes to them, then you may be in for problems.

I agree, and certainly no offense to DD, cause the 2nd gen stuff rocks...

But the first time I saw the DD truck with injectors and EZ pull 490ish, and then the same truck with stage 3's and the Juice (and a turbo I think) -- Well shoot I think it only pulled like 504hp. I was like  - All that, and only 15hp more...

It seems these duration boxes really can tax the rail with injectors...

That's part of it. Also remember that adding duration happens at the end of the stock cycle, so the fuel is getting injected later and later - which is why more smoke and heat, but not a ton more power.

What are you guys with the 6. 7 going to do with big injectors and boxes that cause more power and more smoke and soot to plug the DPF? There is a lot more homework to be done on an 07 engine than just bolt some stuff on...

I think the age of the black clouds has just about ended with the new trucks. More power will not be obvious with more smoke. It's just unburned fuel and really means that the engine is not efficiently burning the fuel that is being fed to it. I think the boxes that come out for the 6. 7L may defuel when soot levels reach a certain point like they defuel now for high EGT or boost.

Hopefully the box manufacturers will come up with a way to kill the check engine light for those that choose to remove their EGR and DPF systems for 'off road' use, as they have for VW TDI's :)

Its more than the check engine light, the engine is electronically derated to the point of having the performance of a 4 banger should something serious go awry in the DPF area. There's an unfortunate reason why there's 5 sensors for the DPF alone

Fooling 5 sensors is the same as fooling one sensor..... just takes more wires and more resistiors.

A couple of the sensors are just pressure sensors looking at the differential across the DPF, that should be easy to take care of... .
