He told me his brother works for a chemical company who will remain unnamed for now (his request) that is developing an additive which will drastically increase the shelf life of biodiesel. Newest alternative fuel

We have been concentrating on alternative fuel for our trucks and totally forgetting about the owners.



Here are the European solutions to our fueling woes...

The quart sized bottle of Diesel is 5. 2% alc. or 11 proof beer.

The Turbo Diesel is 7. 8% (15. 6 proof) for that extra boost and smoke.

We saw this in Tallin, Estonia while we were refueling our truck at a gas station.

The diesel for the truck was a little over $5. 00 a gallon, but after I consumed a quart of the Turbo Diesel owner fuel, I didn't much care about that, or anything else... Oo.

I think this is great! I've been looking for information on converting over to Biodiesel for awhile.

Talked to a friend tonight that is making his own fuel. He has a 96 12v 3500. Here's his formular.

20 gal cooking oil

BK etc.

1 gal gas

2 gal kero

16oz cetane boost

and 8 oz of "something I get off the internet" He did know what it's for. I'm guessing it's an antijel something or other. He saids he has picked up 5mpg with it.

I hope it doesn't hurt the old CTD.

Whats His cost per gallon and how long does it take to make. The price for diesel in our area is $5. 24 per gallon. I have heard of people buying veggie

oil from a grocery store and putting it in there tank. I don't think its any cheaper just real environmentally friendly. Good luck to your friend and here's hoping that something gets cheaper. Food, Fuel ,Medical Care. Heck at this point I would be happy if at least Beer got cheaper.

What ever the price of gas and kero is at the time. He goes to BK, Wendy's & a Chinese restaurant and gets the veggie oil. He then filters it thur 10 micron and then thur a 5 micron filter. Then mixes it together and in the tank it goes. It does smell good coming out the exhaust.

#2 is $463. 9 here today. Just filled up at $121. 75.

Great info source for everyone. I am going to be starting a waste oil co-op in Greenville, SC by the end of the year. Got great info from CHall in Billings, MT. With his help we drove from SC to Glacier Nat'l Park on blended WVO. Great performance and it did my heart good to go past the 4. 79 dino fuel. We ended buying 60 gallons dino to complete the 5800 round trip. Course it helps to have a big transfer tank too... .

Has anyone had experience with CNG to augment the diesel fuel in a Cummins 5. 9L? My CTD is a daily driver and I have four (4) CNG filling stations between home and work.

Would be beneficial to me.

The news around the world makes me nervous about the future possibility of buying diesel fuel at a reasonable price, or specifically at a price I can afford. I don't want to give up driving my 2001 H. O. let alone towing my 36 Foot fifth wheel camper. That's why I'm visiting this forum for the first time. The alternative fuel which currently makes me curious is CNG (Compressed Natural Gas). I understand the less you know about a subject the more sense it can make. I hope others with more experience will chime in and make me feel positive about it or tell me why I need to forget it and find my own vegetable oil source and make my own brew or park my camper in a permanent site.

An alternative fuel option

I just noticed your new section on alternative fuels and thought I would jump in here.

I developed and patented a refinery to produce diesel out of any petrolium liquid. I've tested it on my 04 Duramax,3116 Cat,6. 5 GM turbo diesel and a 95 Dodge Cummins and have had good results. The truck (BR3500 flatbed) gets 17 to 20 mpg with no more noticeable smoke than with 100% diesel. It has 276,000 miles on it.

That will work short term

My experience with a Cummins is that that will eventually coke up injectors. I have had 3 different clients that had that problem after 20K miles or so doing that very same thing. The good news is that they switched back to regular diesel and the coking cleaned up.

Waste Oil

Sleekwater,Does it make a difference if the oil is from a gasser or diesel engine?How often do you have to change your fuel filter and do you notice any difference in the filter compared to when you were using straight diesel?
