Can anyone describe where on the bracket the cracks show?. . Is it really obvious, or is there a particular place to check. . I had my dealer check it when I had it in, but they were so short about it, I have my doubts they even looked... No symptoms, but would like to know for sure. .

Heck if you have the old style they ought to just replace it. Its not a matter IF it cracks its a a matter if WHEN it crackes. Mine had a hairline fracture in the bend were the front bolt holding the alternator on closest to the front of the engine.
