I need help finding a company making a high output alternator. My alternator is fine for daily driving, but, with the accessories on truck, and, electrical draw on trailers I pull, I would feel a little easier if the alternator was pumping out somewhere between 170-230 amps. Suggestions?

Another thought. I just had my alt. rebuilt and the guy set it to put out 150 amp. Maybe you could get yours to 170 with a rebuild.

Higher outputs from the standard size alternator will generally mean shorter life. The oems have dealt with this by running dual alternators. On the last truck that I needed more output I stepped up to a larger frame slternator. The 13s are available with dual 220 amp alternators

In addition to mean green I think another company called PA Performance makes a couple different alts for our trucks. iirc 136, 180 and a 200 for 2nd gens. I might be wrong on the name but am pretty sure it is PA soemthing or other.

Genos garage may offer one as well or at least used to might be worth looking at them as well. They might be where I saw the PA ???? ones.
