Ok, so I have dual alternators.. I know overkill.. but beside the point. After doing a clutch job, some clutch fluid spilled on the connections, causing some corrosion.. on next drive I get "check gauges", with normal voltage.. wierd.. but all I have to do to make it go away, switch to the other alternator. I thought the connections were it, but apparently not so. I've cleaned all of them, yet I'm still getting check gauges on that alternator, with normal voltage and current (I now have current meters on each). It's very strange. Anyone have any ideas?

If they are plug in connectors rather then screw on connectors some clutch fluid ( which I believe still is brake fluid) it could be messing things up in side the wire insulation.
Spraying rhe connectors and the wire inside the insulation with wd40 or someting similar or better mite help.

Yes, it's DOT 3 brake fluid. The connectors are all soldered, and clean. I actually reconnected and installed a 250A fuse block (one on each alternator output). When I run both, it's working properly, and it takes just about half of the load with the grid heaters. I'm beginning to think my grid heaters are somehow shorted. They appear to use about 300 amps! That seems a bit excessive.

a failed temp sensor does the same. had that lately.
charging was fine but light was an alltime.
Autoenginuity told me where to look for.
I have Autoenginuity, that is a good idea. I'll run a scan and see what it finds. It's especially odd when voltage and current appear to be normal.
