When I first bought my truck and installed my HF ham radio I was pleased that there was no ignition or PCM/ECM noise on recieve.

Something has happened since, when I turn on the ignition switch before cranking a steady S-9 noise is heard on the reciever, on AM it sounds like 200-400 hz and stays steady even after the engine starts and rpms vary. I can hear a faint buzz coming from the alternator and a clickity click either from the starter or lift pump and it interupts briefly every 20 or 30 seconds and that is also heard on my radio. Shut switch off and noise goes away after a few seconds delay.

Does any one know what might be wrong? I would like to solve this. Thanks

I would guess the clicking is the lift pump, do you have a cell phone plugged into the cig. lighter, mine makes a lot of noise in CB radio, also I have noticed some noise when I hit the brakes, antilock brake module I think.
