Purchased a kit from Geno's. No instructions with it. Trying to separate the case half's to get at the bearings. Removed the 4 small bolts but that doesn't do much. Called Geno's - no help. Am clueless. Any help would be appreciated.

Different breed of critter. My case half's will not separate. I can pry them apart about 1/4" -thats it. Tried using a pulley puller to push the shaft out of the front half of the case. A lot of force and I must have moved something. But now I cant put things back because the front fan is tight against the the case. Guess tomorrow I'll use more brute force and if I ruin it a new 1 will be in order. Kind of disappointed that Geno's did not give any instructions or help.

By over run pulley I assume you mean the belt pulley. I used a pipe wrench to hold the outside edge of the pulley while I removed the nut. Came off easy. Then used a small file to dress the few small dents the pipe wrench made in the pulley. Used a pulley puller to remove the front 1/2 of the case. Much force. Thats as far as I could go. The bearing is pressed onto the shaft and is so close to the armature I can't get anything behind it to try to pull it off. Then the rear bearing is stuck into the rear case half. Don't have any tools to deal with these problems. Into the trash and get a new one.

I just did mine and it was diffcult to seperate halves as the rear bearing wants to stick in it's cup, put some penetarating oil around case halves and through vents onto rear bearing inside the case. I tapped the cases apart as much as possible, and then used a thin putty knife to separate halves enough to get screw driver tips evenly spaced around the meaty parts where the studs are cast, and then tapped drivers in and used them to wedge halves apart until it finally popped apart.
