I have 49K on my '03 and my alternator went out. Is this a common problem? I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Also, how hard is it to change them out? Do I need any special tools?

I know this should be covered under the 7/70 powertrain, but with all my mods I think they'll deny the warrenty. Any help would be appreciated.

I changed mine in the Dodge parking lot somewhere out in Illinois ... ... ... . darn thing aren't cheap either! I was somewhere over 200,000 when mine went out.

I had a friend of mine who is in the auto body business call a local dodge dealership and they are on national back order. Not sure why? Anyway, he did a national search of all dodge dealerships and found one. They are having it shipped and I should have it here tomarrow. I got it for $170 shipped.

I've never changed one before, so I hope it's not to hard.

I could pull my receipt, but I'm thinkin thats $50 or more cheaper than what I paid.

At the time I bought mine, NAPA had just recieved a new P/N, but Chrysler could get one quicker and I was on the road.
