Replacement fuel tank?

quick question if i'm traveling into the mountians from southern california should i fill up on diesel #1 on the way up the hill. i'm worried that if i spend the night on the hill the fuel might jell up. i'm pretty sure the block heater is useless on the fuel tank. or is there some additave i should put in?

overloaded! not even this is a lance lite. i've taken this thing thousands of miles no problem. . the air bags may be down 10 psi or so in the shot.

I have never experience fuel gel in Colorado. Not even Elk hunting with base camp at 9000 feet in the middle of winter. I do use Stanadyne performance formula all year every tank, but the local fuels are usually winter blends anyway. Not so sure about Southern Cal fuels but is fuel gel an issue anymore? Maybe in North Dakota??

Either way Stanadyne lowers the cloud point 40 degrees… I’m sure the other brands work well also.

Just how cold are you anticipating it to be? Whatever you do, DON'T fill up with straight #1 unless you add a lubricity enhancer... #1 doesn't have enough lubricity on its own and your CP-3 will not be happy.

I think you'll be fine. If you're really worried, why not just carry a bottle of something like Power Service 911? Then if the fuel gels up on you you can "ungel" it.

I've always assumed that the truck stops blend their fuel for whatever weather might be expected within 1 tank (500 - 1000 miles). I wouldn't worry about it.

Like most have said, just use the regular blended fuel and you should be ok. If you have faith in fuel additives, then by all means use some, however if you wait until you are gelled up, all the additive in the world will not help. Once your fuel gells and the motor stops, you cain't get the additive to flow from the tank to the restriction. When this happens, all you can do is wait for warmer temps or have it pulled to a warm shop.

I agree with most here. Use an additive that lowers the cloud point and buy whatever fuel you want. I fill up once in a while at my Dad's and his tank is always straight #2. I always use an additive and have never had a problem.

It could just be the angle of the pic. It just looks a little light on the nose in that pic to me

Overweight?

Dry weight on that Lance 1025 is 2,540 lbs. Holds 33 gals. fresh water.

Add, clothes, food, TP, refreshments, kids entertainment junk, etc. No way overweight!!

I talked to a Lance factory rep and he said with a new set of rear wheels and tires, air bags, etc. I could 'get by' with the Lance Lite 915.

the dry weight of thisd camper is 3100 # i'm sure i'm in the 35's on trips. one thing the lance dealer said to me was we don't sell any camper that won't exceed the load rating on most trucks. also i bought this from a dealer that hauls the 11 footer on a single rear wheel ford truck. he installed 19" tires with a rating of 4500#. personally i love the camper truck combo i feel it's perfectly safe and i have yet to have any mechanical or safty problem in the thousands of miles traveled. we were going for the 915 due to weight issues but decided we needed the extra foot. well worth the cost. keep in mind if you order your cqamper it will probably weigh more on delivery that the lot qween you looked at. thats how we ended up with the 3100# version.

when we were in utah the speed limit was 75 mph we held her at 85 for a cupple hundred miles... my dad was following me and said the 18 wheeleres we passed were litterly blown sideways as i blew past them. she is as safe as you drive her.

I would just run some good additive... then you'll have no worries.

remember guys, if you gell, you can just get some 911 additive, pull the fuel filter, fill it up, pour the rest in the tank, and you should be fine.

but I would just run some additive as a preventative measure... no worries.

nice slide-in. I'd love to have something like that!!!
