Anyone have any comments one whether using lighter alum wheels on a dually helps in the ride and steering/handling (such as it is!) department due to the lighter weight? Better balancing with less wheel weight, maybe?

TIA

I don't have a dually and the Mule always handle good (except when a tire(s) went bad).

The truck can move the tires better because Aluminum weighs less then steel.

I figured I lost 9to 10 lbs of weight per wheel going to aluminum wheels. Should help out mileage though.

Less unsprung mass is always good for vehicle dynamics. The difference from steel wheels to aluminium wheels probably isn't going to be noticed from the seat of the pants. With heavy rotors/drums and soild axles the % weight change is very small.

That said, I have Alcoas on my dually.

A local tire dealer told me that it is unwise to put 19. 5s on our trucks as our axles and such aren't made for such large wheels.

But I see a lot of guys on this forum who use, and swear by them.

Can anyone shed some light on the myths, rumors of having 19. 5 wheels?

For those that do have them, do you have direct bolt-ons or spacers?
