Electric Impact?

Huge socket set

I am looking to purchase a Aluminum floor jack, prolly around 3 ton. I dont mind spending a little extra if it is gonna last. It has to be able to lift my mega cab is about the only requirements, and be around for a while. Any suggestions, comments, pros or cons, will be appreciated.

Thanks

I had one that I bought at Costco's. I had it for a little less than 2 years and took it back. It was nice and lite, but strained to pick up the front of the truck. A little later it strained to pick up the back of the truck. When it started having problems picking up my 97 CRV it was time to go. It wasn't worth the money.

It was a Larin 3 ton.

Then I got lucky and I found a good 4 ton long body Hein Weiner on ebay local to me.

Also try a web search for Peterson Hydraulics. They rebuild and sell all brands of jacks.

#@$%!Thanks guys, but yall are basiclly telling me that a aluminum jack for my duty is not really gonna suit me well? I do some travelling with trailers and what not so i wanted something i could take with me pretty easy lol. Should have know nothing can be simple for me. Guess I start looking at some iron giants tipping the scale at 200lbs. #@$%!

I used to use a 3 ton Omega from Northern tools that picked up the front of my 01 3500 for a little bit. Now I use a Norco 3 ton that is 36" long & around 168lb and does a much better job picking up the front of the truck. It was not as cheap as other brands, but it was built to last lifting the weight. I got mine from the Norco dealer in Tulsa, OK. A good bottle jack "should" work for any roadside issues you hopefully don't encounter. Al

I tried to find the peterson hydraulics link that I thought I had and it doesn't work for some reason. I just emailed from my last saved email to them. If they respond back I will put the link on here for you. The online catalog they had for new and rebuilt jacks showed all kinds of brands with sizes and weights.

I think I made a mistake in my previous post when I said it was a Larin that I bought from Costcos. I was at the Costcos a couple days ago and what they are selling now is a 3 1/2 ton Arcan low profile aluminum for a $100. I think this might have been the same brand name that I bought from them before. I have seen the Larins brand at some other stores and they are pretty cheap looking.

I will say one thing about Costco though. If your a member and buy something and your not satisfied with it they will buy it back no questions asked and no apparent time limit either. As I said before I had the jack about 2 years, had lost the receipt and they said no problem and gave me a cash equivalent card back (gift card). So if your member and have a Costco close to you it might be worthwhile looking at. You might have better luck than me.
