can anyone tell me if there has ever been a recall on the aluminum wheels for my 02? seems the center cap has chaffed the clearcoat and in time has caused them to pit. ive had this truck 4 months and love it.

Pitting is probably the least of your problems. I have two sets of OEM aluminum wheels (one with summer tires, one with snow tires), and out of 8 wheels I've had 3 develop small cracks. The cracks develop near the bead on the inside of the rim. Mind you, I do have 146,000 miles on the truck.

These things are getting tough to find too, and auto recyclers are getting $80-$150. I saw a set on ebay and since I need to keep the truck for another 5 years, bid and won. Now I have 4 wheels in reserve for $200 plus shipping.
