Looking for help...

Anyone run a VIN for me?

Hi I have a 03 Coachmen TT 26 ft and would like to use aluminum wheels on it. Will the wheels from a SUV fit? And if so which ones would be the best choice. I live on the coast and the steel wheels rust and are a pain to keep painted.

Thanks

this may not help but the rv dealer just up the road from my shop has a big fiver that's all gold paint and sits on what looks like 20" or bigger "dub's", when i first saw it i wondered what was more over loaded, the low profile suv tires or the made in china ghetto wheels

i know i've seen aluminum trailer wheels it just if you ca find them that will fit your brake/axle combo, id make sure to coat all of the mating surfaces with antiseize if you have corrosion problems and do go to aluminum, adding aluminum wheels may create another problem that wouldn't be found out till the wheels are already welded to the hubs

there is a couple places on ebay that are selling alum wheels for trailers. they are about 70 bucks a pop.

5 or 6 lug? I have a set of 6 6 lug aluminum rims with tires from my Raptor that I need to get rid of. And a steel spare. I upgaded to 16's this spring and have no use for them

I'm a couple of weeks late hearing about your wheels. I just bought a set of 4 6 lug wheels and tires for my 5er.

Misenheimer: Whatever wheels you get, make sure they are rated heavy enough for your trailer. RV's are typically heavier than SUV's, especially one like a Bronco II.

I paid about $85 for my wheels from the local tire dealer. I priced them from e-bay but by the time you pay shipping, the cost about washes out. Plus you can have the tire shop mount and balance the tires.

Aluminum wheels came as an option, on my 2006 NuWa Hitchhiker 5th wheel. They are out there, just make sure they are rated for the load...

Thats ok Danavilla, I havent been trying too hard yet to get rid of them. I suppose when they are in my way too much in the shop I will try harder.

trailer wheels come with zero offset per axle bearing requirements. Some car/truck/SUVs/etc have too much + or - offset that can overload a inner or outer bearing on the set. Check the offset.

Where did you get your 16" rims? Been considering the same upgrade.

Wow are them ever pretty wheels! I can see that my old steel wheels are going to get an upgrade before too long!
