Since 2005 I've been filling my CTD powered RAM trucks with Amsoil Heavy Duty Diesel synthetic oil and using their EAO80 filter. Fast forward 15 years and 4 CTD trucks later... I'm still keen on the Amsoil oil BUT.... is there a better filter or should I stick with what's worked for the past 15 years? I've read Donaldson makes a mighty fine filter, Looking around I find a few different P/N's for Donaldson and I see mixed reviews. All I want is the BEST filtration for my CTD's blood. Does my 2019 dump more soot back into the oil than my 05, 06 or 18? This 19' is going to me my rig for the next 5+ years so I want to keep it happy. Getting ready here for it's first oil change at 5k miles.

I run the DBL7349 as is the same media as the Amsoil EA, but I can always find the Donaldson cheaper than the Amsoil and I get dealer pricing from Amsoil. I normally buy my Donaldson filters by the pair on amazon.

The ‘19 will likely put similar soot into the oil as the ‘18, which will be less than the 05 or 06. Assuming all stock motors. The 05/06 piston design and internal EGR was more prone to putting soot into the oil.

I am using them now but since I have a 01 Sport that I run during the Summer months so I am not going full 15k changes so I can't compare the AMZ/OIL- Donaldson lab results to the full 15k runs I was doing with the FleetGuard Stratapore.

On paper the AMZ-Donaldson is better.

I like the Black better than the Blue!
