Or was the first generation section left out of the new magazine? If they don't have enough to say about us, maybe they could reprint some old articles. Age Discrimination I guess.

I just keep reminding myself of this great website and that a magazine comes comes with it! I wish they would re-run some of the older stuff or something.

Yep, there was a lot of "good stuff" in the early editions of the magazine.

I would imagine that there have not been any letters to the editor about the 1st gen trucks so they eliminated the section. Write Robert about the same things you are saying here on this forum and/or send in some tips and I'll bet there will be more in the magazine.

The magazine depends a lot on the feed back Robert gets from the readers. The more you send in the more that gets put in the magazine. You will notice that in both the "Member2Member" and the "Turbo Tips" he asks for "more stuff".

Don't be afraid to send it in--some of the tips for 1st gen trucks applies to all the trucks. You don't have to be an English Major to write--he has some good spell and grammer checkers. Like it says on the front page send it on anything from a "floppy" to the back of a "coffee shop napkin"--just send it in!!

Hey--14,000+ readers get to see your tip--name recognition!!

I came to this group for the Cummins-related info - anything that will make my truck run better or last longer.

The most CONFUSING thing I constantly run into, and apparently many other do too, is the various "bombing" products or adjustments different year engines can benefit from. One version gets great benefits from a "VA", or maybe a "BD" or "EZ" is better - but NONE of them will work on MY early '91. My truck uses a different injector pump than later years, so mods for later years don't help us...

A well prepared list of various mods available for EACH generation of engines, along with general pricing would make a good article. But if the magazine is likely to begin reducing coverage of the older trucks, it will sure lose usefullness to ME...

I paid my membership dues just to get info from the website. It has more than paid for itself already. I think the lack of coverage in the older trucks is due in part to the fact there is less to cover. It is all mechanical, with a few wires here and there. I looked under the hood of my friend's 99 24 valve, and it runs fast, but I would not be able to work on it, nor would I want to if I had the electronic equipment. I think I will stick with the first gen trucks, unless I find a real steal on a newer 12 valve, but they have their own quirks, too.
