DTT safe with Smarty?

Well guys I did it, after much debating finally dove in and ordered a Smarty... can't wait for it to get here. My question is this: How is my transmission going to handle Smarty... i would like to be able to run moderate or as little torquemanagement as possible. I have a fully rebuilt transmission built with all DTT Parts. The only things that aren't done are the flexplate and the output shaft. Am I good to go for balls out on the smarty or do I need to address the output and the flexplate before I can play with that? Planning to stack the smarty with an old quadzilla pressure box that does up to 100 hp. Well let me know what ya think!!

First advice is to call them and ask because they know your mods/power level.

The smarty will give you more power with less throttle movement, which translates to less line pressure in the trans. This can be a sensitive issue with most transmissions. The shift points will be lower too.

you might consider fixing the flexplate but should be ok with the stock output shaft, if it breaks it doesn't trash the transmission.

ropinfool,

You'll be fine with what you have. I have everything billet in my transmission but am still running my stock flexplate. My installer is still using his stock flexplate in his pulling truck and is one of DTT's most sought out installers. I trust his opinion and knowledge. Rip 'em up with that smarty!
