This has become very frustrating for me. It seems that near the interstates it’s easy to find but in the cities it’s almost nowhere to be found. I live in the Washington DC/Baltimore metro area.

Yesterday I drove over 150 miles from my house to Mt. Airy MD, then through Gaithersburg and Rockville into Bethesda. We must have passed 10 stations with Diesel and not one has ULSD.

Then we went into Vienna ,Fairfax,Springfield VA. Still nothing. On our way home we found some in Fairfax at 2 stations which were both Sunoco’s . Lately when I get to half a tank I start to look for fuel. Is there a web page that will tell us where we can purchase it?

I thought 80% of the stations in the USA were supposed to have ULSD. It seems that overall about 10% of the stations in the DC/Baltimore area have it unless you are near an interstate hwy. I live 1. 5 miles from I-95 and the Exxon has it. If you go into Laurel MD. I went to six station within a 2 mile radius a few weeks ago and not one had ULSD. Are there any gas station owners on here that can tell me why they choose to purchase #2 Diesel LSD and not ULSD. The 2007 trucks have been out since fall of 2006

Why are they not adapting to a fuel that works in all Diesel trucks?

Hey Jeepstand i just purchased a 07 with a 6. 7 in it cab and chassis I'm building a bed for it and i went to 4 stations before i found ulsd, but it will be parked till spring,it is not a easy to find as one might think.

Does not seem to be a problem here in the Midwest. Actually, I wish I could find some stations that still have LSD for my older truck.

Another problem that we can thank goobermint and the environuts for creating. If it wasn't for the excruciatingly tight emissions regs, the manufacturers of engines and fuels would not have had to go to these lengths. And it gets even TIGHTER in 2010. What next?

Just run what you can get and if it screws up tell the dealer you thought that is the only thing being sold is ulsd. You should not have to go out of your way to find fuel.

No upgraded pump 15 PPM decals ?

Jeepstang... ... . I'd suspect that some of the fueling stations you were at have not upgraded their pumps with the new 15 PPM Decals. I'm quite sure that ULSD has been in place in the majority of retail stations by now.

i'm in So. Md. and i haven't run across a station that DOESN'T sell ULSD..... surely you can find some on RT 1 or RT 301????? i get mine in Dunkirk,Parole,Edgewater,Wayson's Corner... ... most anywhere!!!... . good luck, tom

I went from Calif. to Maine this summer. did not have to much trouble finding ulsd. except in the mid west. my home town in Wisc. still does not have it they have to go to Duluth Minn. to get it for their school buses. . It is available most places. some I asked and they said they just did't remark the pump. so if you ask it is probably in more places than you think.

I don't need it, but thought that ULSD was the only diesel fuel now produced.

My understanding was that this was the cause for the high prices... . new refineries had to be build to produce this fuel.

nope, the cause for the high prices is greed... they are still refining 15>500 diesel till 2010

I guess here in the Washington DC area light duty Diesel trucks are not as common as other parts of the state or country. When I go to Frederick or Mt Airy they all seem to have ULSD it's here in the most wealthy counties in the country where it's hard to find if you are not 1. 0 miles or less from an interstate. I am not willing to take the risk to run LSD fuel. if the pump does not say ULSD I am not using it. I also have never seen any DPF warnings on my overhead. The dealer will not cover warranty for negligence of running the wrong fuel I have been told this from my friend who works for a Dodge dealer who said they already are charging people for running LSD and they will warranty trucks with performance mods such as programmers and chips. Most people who live around here seem to be driving Honda's and Toyota's , BMW's Sunoco seems to be the only consistant gas company that always as ULSD the other brands are all hit or miss and I have had my truck since April so they have had plently of time to change stickers out on the pumps.

I stopped at a major truck stop today on I-40 exit 86 Marion, NC, Love's Truck Stop. I started to fuel my truck when I noticed the old 500 PPM sticker on the pump. I thought, they forgot to change the sticker so I went in and asked the manager. He said we do not have ULSD. I was shocked! A major truck stop with no ULSD, I even went home and went to their website and sure enough no ULSD.

How can the government mandate this stuff and then not make all the stations comply and who knows if they really are complying?

Who is policing these stations?

No wonder some are having problems with CEL coming on. I am very careful with my truck, but I am sure the majority of your run of the mill 6. 7 owners are probably not that careful.

Ironically, the only 500 ppm sticker I've seen in months was at a Pilot truckstop just 1/4 mile off I-70 in western PA. Even the much smaller fuel islands I've been to all carry 15 ppm - at least in southern PA.

In Ct I have not seen a station pumping LSD fuel since before Jan 2007. Now I am trusting the little stickers on the pump when I say this though.

Surprisingly in California... . A Mobil station in Tustin, CA has a 500ppm sticker on the pump I fueled up at on Friday.

One thing I don't like is that the sticker is the same color. I've even seen pumps without stickers. As said above, "Who's policing these stations?"

All stations in Oklahoma have 15ppm, if your not sure of the fuel, most places will look at their fill sheet to see what was delivered.

In the past have asked here when they do not have stickers or when I call to see if they have it and most of them do not even know what ULSD is. Good luck finding someone who speaks english
